Gazanias are South African daisy groundcovers producing vivid, large-petalled flowers that open in full sun and close at night and on overcast days. They are among the most drought-tolerant flowering groundcovers available, thriving in Perth's sandy coastal soils and dry summers with minimal care. Full sun - the flowers only open fully in direct sunlight. Excellent drainage. Very drought tolerant once established. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong the display. Buccaneer produces vivid, multicoloured flowers with bold stripes and contrasting zones of yellow, orange, and red radiating from a dark centre - one of the most striking patterned Gazanias. The bold markings read strongly from a distance.
